The Vietnamese Association of Illinois is among the 17 CBOs that operate a welcoming center under the Illinois Welcoming Centers, a state-funded project to help immigrants and limited English proficient individuals navigate state services.
Its Community Empowerment Legal Clinic, in partnership with the Community Activism Law Alliance, serves low-income immigrants and refugees on Chicago’s North Side, tackling legal issues and social welfare needs and engaging community members through advocacy, civic engagement and organizing.
