Spanish Community Center
Improving quality of life for Latinos, immigrants and low-income people through educational and social services.
The Spanish Community Center is among the 17 CBOs that operate a welcoming center under the Illinois Welcoming Centers, a state-funded project to help immigrants and limited English proficient individuals navigate state services.
The center holds a special place in the history of Joliet, Illinois. It opened its doors in a period similar to the present, when there was substantial mobility from Chicago to the suburbs. The center is a bridge to the well-being of an inclusive and engaged community.
